Wow, that's not too bad of a pivot at all.  Sure it cost you a few dollars but you'll be a lot more happy with the X5.  Now let's hope that the car gods are nice to you after the ML.  Here's hoping this one will have less issues than your last one.

Thanks, I think I will be more happy too. Sticking with a BMW from the Moncton store was obviously the thing to do from a minimizing the loss on the X3 POV. MB Halifax offered 10K less than BMW for the X3 when I looked at a trade for a CPO'd GLE.
I'm not sure the X5 would have been my first choice if I'd been a free agent looking to buy new in this segment but it's hardly a penalty box.

Looks great Greame, how do you find the seats in the X5 in comparison to the X3?

They seemed much more comfortable when I had it home last week. The drive from Moncton was far better. If I had any issues it would be that the seat bases could be a bit longer but that is something I expect I'll get used to.

Good move. I thought CPOs tend to come with an exchange policy?

Congrats on the X5.  A friend of mine has a diesel (2012 or '13) and I've never heard him complain about it.

I believe many of them do...I think it's 3 day/300 km for BMW.  Why do you ask?

Congratulations!! Great looking SUV. Definitely worth the cost, especially if you're keeping the vehicle long term. Enjoy!

looks nice, and those seats appear to be more comfortable looking.

Great news Graeme!  Likely a much better size for you anyway and the $ hit was not too bad either!  I figured you could work something out with that dealer!

That looks great!  Glad it wasn't too much of a penalty to get out of the X3.  It sounds like you're going to be much happier in X5.  Congrats on the new wheels...again!

Here's hoping for many years of 'boring' motoring.   ;D

Curious if the BMW dealer put your ML on their used lot?

Good point Brian - It would be a great read to follow it's continued ownership until it expires.

Brought the X3 home today.....started missing the ML about 40km into the drive home.  Sadly, this is the least excited I've ever been about a new car.  :-\

I think I got carried away with how zippy and nimble/fun to drive the X3 was on the test drive. The problem is that isn't how I drive a car most of the time. For highway cruising at 120-130 on a four lane the ML is far more comfortable.
Almost stopped reading right there.

Yep, I saw it on their website asking 22,900. It sold in about a week
