2009 Vancouver International Auto Show

Vancouver, British Columbia – The 2009 Vancouver International Auto Show has been reduced from ten days to six this year, but that hasn’t dampened the enthusiasm of the vehicle manufacturers all of which – with the exception of Suzuki – have vehicle displays at the show.

Many new vehicles are being displayed here for the first time, including the North American debut of the new 2010 Audi A5 Cabriolet, the Canadian debut of the V6-powered 2010 Acura TSX luxury sedan, and more than a dozen other local debuts.

Reflecting the increased focus on fuel economy and green technology, many all-new or redesigned hybrid vehicles are on display, including the 2010 Toyota Prius, 2010 Honda Insight Hybrid, 2010 Ford Fusion hybrid, 2010 Lexus HS250h hybrid, 2009 Saturn Vue 2-Mode Hybrid, and the 2009 GMC Sierra Hybrid – plus a couple of pure electric cars: the Mitsubishi iMiev electric car and the Dodge EV sports car.

New convertibles are also well represented: the new 2010 BMW Z4, 2009 Mini Cooper Convertible, 2009 Infiniti G37 S hardtop convertible, 2010 Lexus IS convertible, 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse convertible, 2010 Ford Mustang convertible, 2010 Mazda MX-5, and as mentioned the all-new 2010 Audi A5 Cabriolet.

Popular, affordable new models are likely to attract the most buyer interest, such as the 2010 VW Golf, 2010 Mazda3, 2010 Nissan Cube, 2010 Ford Fusion, 2010 Kia Forte, and a special preview of the upcoming 2010 Ford Fiesta.

Performance models are also well represented: the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, 2010 Ford Mustang and Shelby Mustang, 2010 Nissan 370Z, 2010 Dodge Challenger, 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe, 2009 Audi S4, 2009 Mitsubishi Evolution, and 2009 Nissan GTR are all there.

Luxury vehicle reveals include the new 2010 Buick Allure, 2010 Lincoln MKS, 2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK 350, 2009 Audi A3 2.0 TDI diesel, and 2010 Lexus RX 350.
