2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback
Toronto, Ontario – Mitsubishi displayed the all new 2009 Lancer Sportback GTS and Lancer Sportback Ralliart, both four‑door hatchbacks, but offering different powertrains.
Exclusive to Canada in North America, the 2009 Lancer Sportback GTS complements the existing Lancer GTS sports sedan, while the 2009 Lancer Sportback Ralliart is a sister vehicle to the recently introduced, high performance, all-wheel drive, Lancer Ralliart sports sedan.
The Lancer Sportback GTS, powered by a 2.4-litre, four‑cylinder engine producing 168 hp at 6000 rpm is essentially identical to the Lancer GTS sedan in terms of features and specifications. The Lancer Sportback Ralliart which is powered by a 2.0-litre, turbocharged, intercooled, four-cylinder engine producing 237 hp at 6000 rpm shares key features and specifications with the Lancer Ralliart sedan.
Pricing is as follows: Lancer Sportback GTS; MSRP from $23,498 to $27,498 depending on transmission choices and options. Lancer Sportback Ralliart; MSRP $33,498 for base model, $38,498 with Premium Package. MSRP is exclusive of taxes, freight and PDI.
Mitsubishi also announced that they had chosen Right To Play as their official sports charity for 2009. For every Mitsubishi vehicle sold at retail, over the three month period April 2009 through June 2009, MMSCAN will donate $100 cash to Right To Play. In 2008, using an identical formula, MMSCAN donated $480,000 in direct cash contributions to this worthy cause. Currently operating in 23 countries, Right To Play is an international humanitarian organization that uses sport and play programs to improve health, build life skills, and foster peace for children and communities affected by war, poverty and disease.
