On sale in the U.S. since 2002, the Scion brand enters the Canadian market for the first time in 2011. It is the entry-level brand from Toyota but is marketed independently through a unique campaign and through select stand-alone stores or special sections of existing Toyota dealers. For 2011, it will be sold in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal. The 2011 xD is a refreshed version of the 2010 xD sold in the U.S.

Based on a Toyota Yaris platform, the four-door xD hatchback uses a 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine with five-speed manual transmission or optional four-speed automatic.

The xD comes in a single trim line. Features include 16-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, cloth sport bucket seats, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, cruise control, digital clock, vanity mirrors, outside temperature gauge, power locks with keyless entry, power windows with driver’s one-touch down, power port, tilt steering wheel with audio controls, chrome exhaust tip, heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, variable intermittent wipers, rear washer/wiper, Pioneer CD/MP3 stereo with six speakers, auxiliary input, USB port, Bluetooth connectivity, active front head restraints, and tire pressure monitoring system.

Available factory- or dealer-installed options include 16-inch alloy wheels, hood deflector, rear spoiler, wheel locks, all-season floor mats, cargo mat and liner, heated leather seats, premium Alpine stereo, XM satellite radio, block heater, cargo cover, cargo net and security system.
