Yes, it has a HEMI, and in the Ram 1500 it’s put to good use. While the HEMI has been marketed as something of an automotive fashion accessory, it’s actually a smooth and versatile engine with an abundance of horsepower and torque – just what you need if you want to tow 7500 pounds around. Interior accommodations of the Ram 1500 are comfortable and well-organized, and when driving on the highway, it feels surprisingly light on its feet, especially when changing lanes and cornering. Off-road performance was excellent; its torque and ground clearance made short work of the tough trail. On the road, suspension is not harsh, but it is firm. This truck, with its chrome trim and wheels, and in-your-face grille, is a brash-looking vehicle that backs up its swagger with solid performance numbers.
