NEW FOR 2011:
- New LED daytime running lights, power-dome hood and exterior mirror design
- New Grand Edition and BlueTec Designo Edition packages
- Option packages add new features
- Exterior colour: Diamond White added
With a new M-Class coming for 2012, changes to the 2011 version are trim only, with new packages to limit the number of available options ordered. A new mirror design is similar to that used on the C-, E- and S-Class, and a new power dome hood design is unique to Canada, while the daytime running lights are now LED.
The ML350 and ML350 BlueTec can be ordered with a new Grand Edition package, in Chromite Black or Diamond White, which adds unique black Artico leather with contrast stitching, luxury front head restraints, ambient lighting package, Artico leather dashboard, black headliner, 20-inch ten-spoke bi-colour wheels, dark-tinted headlights and taillights, AMG grille and steering wheel with shifter paddles, 3D gauge cluster, sport pedals, stainless steel sill plates, and Grand Edition badges and floor mats, along with Parktronic, power-adjustable driver’s seat, memory package, power steering column, power-folding mirrors, navigation system with DVD changer, power tailgate, rear-view camera, Blind Spot Assist, media interface, Keyless Go and 115-volt power outlet.
The Designo Edition, available on the ML350 BlueTec, includes the features of the Grand Edition package and adds Designo Nappa leather upholstery, AMG body styling, 21-inch five-spoke AMG wheels, Airmatic with adaptive damping system, Easy-Pack load securing kit, and black headliner.
New features are added to the option packages, including Blind Spot Assist to the Avantgarde Package, and Blind Spot Assist, illuminated sill plates and trailer hitch to the ML63 AMG Premium Package.
The M-Class consists of four models. The ML320 BlueTec uses a 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel engine; the ML350 uses a 3.5-litre V6; the ML550 uses a 5.5-litre V8; and the ML63 AMG uses a 6.2-litre V8. All use a seven-speed automatic that’s an AMG Speedshift version in the ML63 AMG. All use 4Matic all-wheel drive, which uses a single-speed transfer case and centre differential to split the torque 50/50 front to rear.
The ML350 BlueTec and ML350 are similarly-equipped, and include 19-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, COMAND with six-CD/MP3 stereo and single SD card slot, Sirius satellite radio, Bluetooth connectivity, heated power-folding mirrors with integrated turn signals, two-stage rain-sensing wipers, heated washer system, roof rails, tinted glass, active bi-xenon headlamps with washers and cornering lights, Artico leather upholstery, leather-wrapped heated multifunction steering wheel with power tilt and telescopic column, power-adjustable heated front seats with three-position memory, high-gloss Burl Walnut wood trim, power sunroof, auto-dimming rear-view and driver’s side mirrors, auto up/down windows, garage door opener, Smart Key keyless entry, tire pressure loss warning system, cargo net, and first-aid kit.
The ML550 adds 20-inch alloy wheels, Thermatronic automatic climate control, Airmatic air suspension, adaptive damping system, Harman/Kardon Logic7 surround sound system, media interface, power tilt and telescopic column, 115-volt power outlet, power liftgate, Parktronic parking sensor, TeleAid emergency calling system, leather upholstery, and interior lighting package.
The ML63 AMG adds 21-inch alloy wheels, COMAND APS with hard-drive-based navigation, DVD changer, 4GB Music Register and SD memory slot, aluminum running boards, AMG Nappa leather upholstery, and heated rear seats.
