NEW FOR 2014:

– Anti-theft wheel locks removed.
– Towing package added as standard equipment.
– R-Line Package available on Highline/Execline.
– Easy Open power tailgate added as standard to Highline/Execline (not available with R-Line package).

The largest SUV in Volkswagen’s range in Canada, the Touareg goes into the 2014 model year with some additional equipment and options packages to suit different tastes. For those looking to haul a trailer, all models now come standard with a towing package. However, if you are looking for a bit more excitement from your drive, a new R-Line Package with sport suspension is available on Highline and Execline models. Unfortunately, the Easy Open power tailgate — now standard on Highline/Execline — is incompatible with the R-Line Package.

The Touareg is available with two engines — a 3.6L gasoline V6 engine (280 hp, 266 lb-ft) and a 3.0L turbodiesel V6 (240 hp, 406 lb-ft). Both are mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox paired with 4MOTION all-wheel drive.
