For 2011, the Volkswagen Passat lineup slims down to only the Passat CC; in preparation for their all-new and yet-unnamed replacements for 2012, the sedan and wagon models have been discontinued. The Passat CC receives a new wheel design on its Sportline trim line, while the four-cylinder and V6 Highline trim lines can be optioned with a new R-Line package of 18-inch “Mallory” alloy wheels, darkened taillights, and R-Line specific front bumper, side skirts, badging, aluminum door sills, and steering wheel which adds paddle shifters on the four-cylinder with DSG transmission.

The Passat CC is a four-door sedan with coupe-like styling. It is available with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, mated to a six-speed manual transmission or optional six-speed Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) in Sportline or Highline trim, and with a 3.6-litre V6 with a six-speed automatic transmission and 4Motion all-wheel drive, in Highline trim only.

Features on the Sportline include 17-inch alloy wheels, single-zone climate control, heated seats with 12-way power driver adjustment, auto-dimming rearview mirror, automatic headlamps, Bluetooth connectivity, six-CD premium stereo with auxiliary input and iPod connectivity, Sirius satellite radio, chrome exterior trim, cruise control, digital compass, fog lights, pushbutton start, heated washer nozzles, multifunction trip computer, heated mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, sport suspension, and tire pressure monitoring system.

The Highline adds 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated leather sport seats, 12-way power passenger seat, driver’s side memory, adaptive bi-xenon headlamps, brushed aluminum interior trim, garage door opener, and panorama vent sunroof.

The Highline V6 adds a power rear sunshade.

The Sportline can be optioned with the panorama vent sunroof, while all models can be optioned with a Technology Package that adds touch-screen navigation, a 30-GB hard drive, rearview camera, and Dynaudio 600-watt digital sound package with ten speakers.
