Rolls-Royce rolls out an updated Ghost sedan for 2014, with refreshed styling and technology wrapped around familiar mechanicals. Ghost continues to use a twin-turbo 6.6L V12 engine making 563 hp and 575 lb-ft of torque in standard spec, while a new V-Specification model adds 30 hp. matched with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is the only driveline layout offered. As before, Ghost is available in standard and extended-wheelbase models.
Rather than offer various trim lines as other carmakers do, Rolls will essentially sell you a car done the way you want it, built around a suite of standard features. Items offered as standard or optional include active cruise control, four-zone climate control, umbrella holders, veneer picnic tables, 360-degree-view cameras, deep-pile carpets, lambswool floor mats, panoramic sunroof, Xenon headlights, satellite-linked transmission, air suspension, heated front and rear seats, and optional two-passenger rear seating with heated and cooled massaging seats.
