NEW FOR 2013:

-GTS trim added

Porsche’s Panamera stays mostly static for 2013, but welcomes a new GTS trim to the lineup, following last year’s introduction of the S Hybrid and Turbo S models. Those additions brought the total number of variants to eight: Panamera, Panamera 4, Panamera S, Panamera 4S, GTS, Turbo, Turbo S and S Hybrid.

Entry-level models use a 3.6L V6 (300 hp/295 lb-ft of torque); the S Hybrid pairs a 3.0L V6 with an electric motor for a total of 380 hp and 428 lb-ft; standard S cars get a 4.8L V8 (400 hp/369 lb-ft), while the GTS gets a 430 hp/384 lb-ft version of that motor. Turbo cars are powered by a turbocharged 4.8L V8 with 500 hp/516 lb-ft, and the Turbo S uses an uprated version of that motor with 550 hp/553 lb-ft.

All models use Porsche’s dual-clutch PDK transmission save for the S Hybrid, which gets an eight-speed automatic. Hybrid and base models are rear-wheel drive; all others are all-wheelers.

Standard features (based on 2012 MY specs) in the Panamera and Panamera 4 include 18-inch wheels, dual-zone climate control, engine auto start-stop function, electric parking brake, power closing trunk, sunroof, automatic rear spoiler, power windows with auto up/down, keyless entry, rain-sensing wipers, heated washer nozzles and power-folding side mirrors, auto-dimming mirrors, rear park assist, garage door opener, Bluetooth, navigation, automatic Xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights and brake lights, front knee airbags, rear-seat side airbags, eight-way heated seats, heated tilt-and-telescopic steering and an alarm system.

S and 4S models add steerable headlights with automatic range control.

S Hybrid trim builds on the S model and adds air suspension, electric power steering, rear wiper and hybrid drive display.

The Turbo gets 19-inch wheels, red brake calipers, air suspension and load-levelling, adaptive rear spoiler, twin-tube tailpipes, upgraded stereo, steerable headlights, 14-way power front seats, heated rear seats, power-adjustable steering wheel, leather-trimmed dashboard, and Alcantara headliner.

Finally, Turbo S models get 20-inch wheels, dynamic chassis control, torque vectoring plus, sports exhaust, sport chrono package, body-colour spoiler, unique side skirts and grey metallic paint.
