NEW FOR 2010:
– GTS and Turbo S models can be optioned with 20-inch all-season tires at no extra cost (replaces 21-inch high-performance summer tires)
For 2010, the Porsche Cayenne is unchanged, except that the standard 21-inch summer performance tires on the GTS and Turbo S can be replaced with 20-inch all-season tires at no extra cost.
The Cayenne uses a 3.6-litre V6 in the base model. The Cayenne S, Cayenne GTS and Cayenne S Transsyberia use a naturally-aspirated 4.8-litre V8 that makes 385 horsepower in the S, and 405 horsepower in the GTS and Transsyberia; the GTS is also available in a Porsche Design Edition 3 trim package. The Turbo and Turbo S use a turbocharged 4.8-litre V8 that makes 500 horsepower in the Turbo, and 550 horsepower in the Turbo S. Transmission choices are a six-speed manual or six-speed Tiptronic automatic; the automatic is the only choice on the S, Turbo and Turbo S. All models use an all-wheel drive system that normally operates in a 38/62 split, but which can send 100 per cent of torque front or rear when necessary, and includes a driver-selectable low range.
Features on the Cayenne include 17-inch alloy wheels, 12-way power front seats with memory, leather-trimmed multifunction steering wheel, automatic climate control, 60/40 folding rear seat, footwell lighting, front and rear fog lamps, CD/MP3 stereo with 12 speakers, trip computer, power windows with remote key-fob closing, rain-sensing wipers, heated washer jets, power liftgate, cruise control, garage door opener, black roof rails, trailer hitch preparation and rear spoiler.
The Cayenne S adds 18-inch alloy wheels and dark-tinted rear glass.
The S Transsyberia adds 18-inch wheels painted in contrasting colour, air suspension with load-levelling and height adjuster, 4.1:1 final driver, sports exhaust system, off-road lights, enlarged rear spoiler with contrasting colour, stainless steel nose and tail trim, thicker Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel rim and 12-o’clock mark, and black paint with orange, crystal silver metallic or meteor grey metallic contrasting colour.
The GTS builds on the S and adds 21-inch alloy wheels, air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management, side skirts, painted moldings, roof spoiler with double-wing profile, and black window surrounds.
The GTS Porsche Design Edition 3, produced in limited numbers, adds Lava Grey Metallic paint with design strips, black-finished bi-xenon headlamps, dark privacy glass, monochrome black exterior package, logo stainless steel door entry guards, exclusive black leather and contrasting red stitching accents, padded multifunction steering wheel, carbon trim strips, 14-speaker Bose 5.1 Surround Sound System, numbered glovebox badge, and an extended roof spoiler with double-wing profile that can be added as a no-cost option.
The Cayenne Turbo builds on the S and adds speed-sensitive steering, self-levelling bi-Xenon headlamps, brushed aluminum roof rails, front and rear heated seats, heated steering wheel, navigation system, front and rear park assist, leather-trimmed dashboard, and Alcantara headliner.
The Cayenne Turbo S adds Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, body-colour wheel arch extension, matte-finish air intake grilles, dual-twin tailpipes, and two-tone leather upholstery.
