CHANGES FOR 2014:

– Hybrid model added.

Just a year since its complete overhaul – taking the Pathfinder off its truck frame and into a car platform shared with the Altima, Murano, and Infiniti Q60 (née JX35) – the 2014 model gets a new hybrid option and an additional SL Tech Package available on SL-trimmed models.

Pathfinder is only available with a 3.5L V6 engine – producing 260 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque – mated to a continuously variable transmission. However, it can be had with two- or four-wheel drive. Hybrid models are powered by a 2.5L supercharged four-cylinder engine and 15 kW electric motor with a dual-clutch system separating the two. Power is sent to all four wheels through a CVT transmission.

Features on the S include all-mode 4×4-i intuitive 4WD system (4WD models), hill start assist, 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, 7-passenger seating capacity, EZ Flex seating system, tri-zone automatic climate control, advanced drive-assist display, remote keyless entry, push button start, power windows, AM/FM/in-dash 6-CD audio system with six speakers, MP3/WMA CD playback capability, auxiliary audio input jack, illuminated steering wheel-mounted audio controls, Nissan advanced airbag system, and TPMS with easy-fill tire alert.

SV trim adds 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, automatic headlights, roof rails, power liftgate, information centre with 7-inch QVGA colour monitor, backup camera, rear sonar system, individual tire pressure display, Bluetooth phone capability, Nissan Intelligent Key, power windows with front one-touch auto-up/down, variable intermittent speed-sensitive wipers, dual illuminated visor vanity mirrors, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, USB port, auxiliary audio/video input jacks, and satellite radio.

SL trim adds tow hitch receiver with 7-pin trailer tow wiring harness, leather-appointed seats and door trim, fog lights, chrome body side mouldings, outside mirrors with reverse tilt-down feature, remote start, auto-dimming rearview mirror, HomeLink® universal garage door opener, digital compass, welcome lighting, heated second-row seats, driver’s seat and outside mirrors position memory, driver’s seat power lumbar support, 4-way power adjustable passenger’s seat, wood-tone trim, and stainless steel kick plates.

Platinum trim adds 20-inch aluminum wheels, navigation with 8-inch touchscreen, NavTraffic, Around View Monitor, Bose® audio system with 13 speakers, including Bose® Acoustic Waveguide technology, DVD video playback capability, Bluetooth audio streaming, 120-volt AC power outlet, heated and cooled front seats, power-tilt/telescoping steering column, and steering-wheel position memory.

Hybrid models are available in two trims – SV 4WD and Platinum 4WD with Premium Package – and are packaged the same as gas models but with additional LED taillights, badging, and electronics to display hybrid activity.
