The Mitsubishi Galant GTS is a fully loaded Mid-sized sedan worthy of consideration by much of the mid-size market shoppers. Often overlooked the Galant in GTS trim provides roominess, ergonomics and conveniences which are complemented by its 3.8 litre V6, the largest offered in its class, the Galant is also a real performer.

Having never driven a Mitsubishi I had no idea what I would be getting into. Would the controls be obvious? Would the ride be soft like a Kia / Hyundai or would it be similar to other Japanese brands such as Honda or Mazda? Interior quality and controls what would they be like? This will be an interesting week for me, my first experience behind the wheel of a Mitsubishi…. will I like it?

My first impressions are positive, the interior seems to be well put together some of the controls very familiar and taken directly from the Chrysler / Dodge parts bin. Some of the controls were very intuitive but some I have yet to figure out. The trip computer has many functions that seem to be tied to a GPS, such as elevation. There is no Navigation system though I’ll have to determine what this is all about.

I haven’t had a whole lot of time behind the wheel of the Galant as of yet, but I have had some highway time. Initial impressions are that the Galant is a very smooth highway vehicle with plenty of power to get you around. Wind noise and road noise were basically nil on the highway.

Equipped with a 270W Mitsubishi/Infinity 6 CD/MP3 audio system with 8 speakers, I can also say that initial stereo impressions are very high on positive scale.
