CHANGES FOR 2014:
With the market for subcompacts heating up, Mitsubishi Canada has begun importing the tiny Mirage to bolster the bottom end of its lineup. It uses a 1.2L three-cylinder engine that makes 74 hp and 74 lb-ft of torque. The base transmission is a five-speed manual; a continuously variable automatic (CVT) is optional.
Trim levels include ES 5MT, ES CVT and SE; the CVT is optional in SE trim.
Standard features include seven airbags (with driver’s knee blocker), electronic brake force distribution, brake override and brake assist, anti-theft engine immobilizer, front stabilizer bar, hill start assist (CVT-only), 14-inch steel wheels with covers, auto-off headlights, power side mirrors, four-way manually adjustable driver’s seat, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, cloth upholstery, driver’s side vanity mirror, floor mats, power front windows with driver’s auto up/down, four-speaker stereo, multi-function trip computer, and gear shift indicator.
ES CVT trim adds the automatic tranmission and “eco” mode indicator.
SE models get 14-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, heated side mirrors, body-colour side mirrors, door handles and tailgate handle, six-way manually-adjustable driver’s seat, steering wheel and gauge cluster with silver accents, chrome front inside door handles, automatic climate control, keyless entry, and power rear windows.
