Last year, the M-Class did without V8 and AMG models in the range. For 2014, they make their return as the ML550 4MATIC and ML63 AMG. Collision Prevention Assist, colour instrument cluster display, and digital operator’s manual in COMAND are all standard.

The M-Class is available as the ML350 4MATIC, with 3.5-litre V6; ML350 BlueTEC 4MATIC, with 3.0-litre turbodiesel V6; ML550 4MATIC, with 4.6-litre bi-turbo V8; and ML63 AMG, with 5.5-litre bi-turbo V8. All use a seven-speed automatic transmission and 4MATIC all-wheel drive.

Standard equipment on the ML350/ML350 BlueTEC/ML550 includes electromechanical power steering, LED daytime running lights and tail lamps, cross-drilled brake rotors, sliding glass sunroof, power folding exterior mirrors, paddle shifters, memory seats and steering column, and satellite radio.

ML63 AMG models add Active Curve System, AIRMATIC with Adaptive Damping System, AMG-specific 40:60 torque split (vs 50:50 for other models), ECO Start/Stop, 21-inch AMG 5-multi-spoke wheels, silver brake calipers with AMG logo, active bi-xenon headlamps, Adaptive Highbeam Assist, AMG sport pedals, designo leather dashboard, designo velour floormats, 4.5-inch colour display with RACETIMER, 14-speaker 830W harman/kardon LOGIC7 audio, Passive Blind Spot Assist, and Lane Keeping Assist.

Adding the AMG Performance Package to the ML63 AMG increases output by 32 hp and 44 lb-ft of torque while adding carbon fibre engine cover, AMG performance steering wheel, red brake calipers, and raising top speed to 280 km/h.
