Mazda has streamlined its Mazda5 mini-minivan lineup for 2015, shuffling features and reducing the number of options. A pair of trims–GS and GT– remains, both powered by a 2.5L four-cylinder making 157 hp ad 163 lb-ft of torque that can be mated with a six-speed manual transmission, or an optional five-speed automatic.
Features on the GS include 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, black grille, power mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, intermittent rear wiper, automatic headlamps, dual sliding doors, outside temperature gauge, tilt and telescopic steering wheel with audio controls, keyless entry, auto-down driver’s window, illuminated entry, electroluminescent gauges, centre row fold-out cargo table/bin, manual driver’s height adjustment, driver’s side seat back pocket, second-row fore-and-aft sliding seats, 50/50 split-folding third-row seat, floor mats, CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary and USB input, and active front head restraints.
GS models can be optioned with a pair of packages. A convenience package bundles Bluetooth connectivity with audio profile, cruise control, trip computer, leather-wrapped steering wheel and anti-theft alarm. A moonroof package brings a moonroof, rear backup sensors, satellite radio, six-speaker stereo, and side sill extensions.
The GT adds 17-inch alloy wheels, tire pressure monitoring system, side sill extensions, dark silver grille, heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, xenon headlamps, fog lights, leather seats, sunroof, rear spoiler, cruise control, heated front seats, driver’s lumbar support, leather-wrapped steering wheel, trip computer, CD/MP3 stereo, Bluetooth connectivity with audio profile, Sirius satellite radio, rear backup sensors, and anti-theft alarm.
