NEW FOR 2014:

-Redesigned model

Mazda’s mid-size, family sedan is all-new for 2014, and follows the CX-5 crossover’s in adopting the brand’s new KODO design language, and ‘SkyActiv’ fuel-saving design and technological elements that promise reduced fuel consumption.

Gone are last year’s four-cylinder and V6 engines. They’re replaced by a single, brand-new, 2.5L ‘SkyActiv’ four-cylinder engine that makes 184 hp and 185 lb-ft of torque, which can be paired with six-speed manual or automatic transmissions. All three trims–GX, GS, and GT– come standard with the stick; the auto is an option in all three, but GS and GT models get paddle shifters not offered in the GX.

Standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels, heated and power-adjustable side mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights, LED taillights, six-speaker stereo with USB and auxiliary inputs and colour touchscreen display, Bluetooth, air conditioning, cruise control, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, power windows, keyless entry, heated front seats with six-way manual driver adjustment and four-way front passenger adjustment, and tilt-and-telescopic steering.

GS trim adds fog lights, backup camera, HMI (human-machine interface) control system, dual-zone automatic climate control, power sunroof, intelligent keyless entry with pushbutton start, lighted vanity mirrors, blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, six-way power driver’s seat, and leather-trimmed steering wheel and shift lever.

An optional GS luxury package brings leather seats, eight-way power driver’s seat with lumbar, and navigation.

GT models get 19-inch wheels, auto-levelling HID headlights with LED signature, 11-speaker sound system, navigation, and driver seat memory.

An optional GT Tech package adds a regenerative braking system (i-ELOOP), satellite radio, smart city brake support, lane departure warning, radar-based adaptive cruise control, forward obstruction warning, and automatic highbeam control.
