With SUVs and large trucks falling out of favour with lovers of crossover vehicles, Lincoln has introduced the all-new 2010 Lincoln MKT, a crossover larger than the two-row Lincoln MKX, for those who want luxury and style in a seven seater vehicle.

Based on the 2009 AJAC Canadian utility vehicle of the year, the Ford Flex, the 2010 Lincoln MKT adds more power, more features and the new signature Lincoln design and style.

Standard is a 3.7-litre Duratec engine outputting 268hp and 267lb-ft of torque; optional, and powering my tester, is Ford’s new 3.5-litre Ecoboost V6 engine, a twin turbocharged powerplant that produces 355 horsepower and 350lb-ft of torque through a six-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive.

As you may have guessed, my tester is, again, fully loaded: starting at $53,350 for the Ecoboost model, my tester adds a $5,000 Elite package which includes: voice activated navigation system THX II Surround sound, blind spot monitoring system and power panoramic vista roof.

My tester also includes the $700 active park assist system, which allows the MKT to practically park itself, and $1,300 adaptive cruise control. Other optional equipment includes a trailer hitch and block heater.

2010 Lincoln MKT
MSRP as tested (excluding destination): $61,530
