Substantially upgraded for 2010, the Jaguar XK line-up enters 2011 unchanged, except for new upgraded warranty protection. Overall warranty increases from 4 years/80,000 km to 5 years/80,000 km. All models also include standard Jaguar Platinum Coverage, which includes complimentary scheduled maintenance and no-charge replacement of basic wear-and-tear items, including brake pads and discs, wiper blades, and oil and brake fluid changes for 5 years/80,000 km.
To mark its 75th anniversary, the company is also releasing the XKR175 75th Anniversary Coupe. Limited to 175 cars, it includes Ultimate Black paint, unique front and rear spoilers, side sills and rear diffuser, 20-inch “Kasuga” alloy wheels, charcoal leather with cranberry stitching and piano black veneer trim, and an electronically-governed top speed of 280 km/h, up from 250 km/h for regular XKR models.
Available as a coupe or convertible, the line-up includes the XK, with 5.0-litre V8, and the XKR, with supercharged 5.0-litre V8. Both engines use a six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode.
Features on the XK models include 19-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, cruise control with automatic speed limiter, electric parking brake, LED taillamps, rear fog lamps, power-folding auto-dimming rear-view mirrors with integrated turn signals and puddle lamps, rain-sensing wipers, automatic bi-xenon headlamps with cornering lights, washers and automatic levelling, front and rear parking assist, rear spoiler, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, auto up/down windows, trip computer with message centre, keyless entry and start, garage door opener, 16-way power driver and passenger heated and cooled soft-grain leather sport seats, three-position driver and passenger memory, heated leather-wrapped wheel, front and rear premium carpet mats, “suede-cloth” headliner, six-CD/MP3 stereo with USB and auxiliary input, Sirius satellite radio, Bowers & Wilkins 525-watt sound system, Bluetooth connectivity, and navigation system. The convertible includes a power top with aluminum tonneau cover, and rollover protection system.
The XKR models add JaguarDrive Control with winter and dynamic modes, active differential control, active front lighting, quad exhaust tailpipes, and contrasting seat stitching.
