For 2013, the new third-generation Santa Fe is split into two different models. The larger, 7-passenger version is called the Santa Fe XL (the smaller Santa Fe Sport is detailed in a separate entry) and replaces the slow-selling Hyundai Veracruz.
Unlike the Santa Fe Sport, which relies on two different four-cylinder engines, the Santa Fe XL is powered solely by a 3.3-litre V6 engine with 290 hp and 252 lb-ft of torque. Available in front- or all-wheel drive, all Santa Fe XL models use a six-speed automatic transmission.
The 7-passenger Santa Fe is available in five trim lines: FWD, Premium AWD, Luxury AWD, Limited AWD with Black Leather, and Limited AWD with Saddle Leather.

Premium AWD adds all-wheel drive, automatic headlights, automatic dual zone temperature control, rear door blinds, heated rear seats, leather-wrapped gear shift knob, heated steering wheel, rear park assist, power liftgate, 3rd row HVAC, and 115V power outlet.
Luxury AWD adds 4.3-inch touchscreen audio, panoramic sunroof, exterior mirrors with side repeater lights, leather seating surfaces, power passenger seat, electrochromatic mirror with HomeLink and compass, and rearview camera.
Limited AWD adds HID headlights, memory driver seat, ventilated front seats, LED tail lights, 6-passenger seating (2nd row captain’s chairs), supervision cluster with TFT LCD screen, proximity key with push button start, 19-inch alloy wheels, 10-speaker Infinity audio, deluxe metal accent door scuff, and navigation with 8-inch touchscreen.
