NEW FOR 2013:

– Paint changes: Champagne Silver Metallic added.
– Powertrain grade braking in normal transmission mode.

Chevrolet’s venerable full-size SUV ambles into 2013 with just one change – its six-speed automatic transmission gets a downhill engine braking mode to ease brake wear when towing. There’s no getting around this big truck’s thirst for fuel; the smaller Tahoe gets a hybrid option, but not this behemoth. The Suburban doesn’t push any boundaries: it’s just a big truck that can carry a lot of stuff, or a bunch of people, and tow something heavy at the same time. The Suburban can be ordered in regular-duty half-ton trim, or as a heavy-duty three-quarter ton model.

The 1500 is available in LS, LT and LTZ trim, with the LTZ in 4×4 configuration only. The 2500 comes in LS and LT.
