Here it is folks: CarTalkCanada’s first test vehicle to surpass the five-figure barrier. This week we are looking at the $91,520.00 Cadillac Escalade. Only those lucky enough to live in the land of oil will pay less than $100,000 for this one.

I have had a soft spot for Caddies ever since a cold day in March when I had the pleasure to drive my first CTS. That was close to two years ago now and while the CTS truly impressed me, the downside was the not-quite-up-to-par centre stack.

My tester is loaded to the top with features; let’s start with the standard features available on the more modestly priced $75,830 model. The Escalade is propelled by a 6.2L V8 engine producing 403 hp and 565 lb-ft of torque, which may all be required to move this beast of 5901lbs, especially if you utilize its towing capacity of 7400lbs.

Also standard over and above leather trim, chromed wheels and seating for seven are four wheel disc ABS brakes, all-wheel drive, adaptive suspension, HID headlights and airbags in all 3 rows to keep your family safe.

Ah – who am I kidding here? I can’t possibly list every standard feature on this vehicle as it would bore you to no end. I’ll go over some of the more impressive features during my week as I discover them. So far I’m enjoying my Caddy experience.
