It’s all singing and all dancing….. not really but it is loaded with enough goodies to keep you happy for days. This week is the 2006 Cadillac DTS the only Cadillac in the lineup still supporting front wheel drive and although they tried, it isn’t as edgy as a CTS or STS in the styling department. This vehicle is classified as a full sized luxury vehicle and it certainly is full sized…..

Don’t get me wrong it is luxurious as well with a quiet and posh interior, but for 70,000 dollars it should blow my mind. Let’s go through the options/features list, this will give you an idea of the multitude of buttons available to you once you step inside the DTS. With so many options it may be a little confusing for some, without reading the owners manual you certainly will be saying “What’s this button do?”, over and over again.

Two engines are available a 275hp V8 or a 291hp V8 both provide more than enough oomph to break traction to the front tires, a standard 4 speed automatic transmission with overdrive, six air bags, StabiliTrak vehicle stability programming with Brake Assist and Magnetic Ride Control.

The front seats are both power adjustable, including power lumbar, massage, heating and cooling with three settings. The rear seats are also heated, but not cooled including power lumbar support. Remote keyless entry with remote start and remote trunk release that opens the trunk fully, but no power closing trunk unfortunately. All windows are one-touch auto down enabled; only the fronts have auto-up, the rear windows go completely down unlike most vehicles.

There really are too many features to list here, but here’s a sampling of the “good” stuff. Cruise control with radar guided sensors, front and rear parking sensors, dual zone climate control front with separate control for the rear passengers. Rain sensing wipers with heated washer fluid, automatic on/off headlights, rear sunshade and powered moonroof. An in dash six-CD changer and MP3 player including Auxiliary input and XM radio.

I certainly do not feel like something is missing, the DTS seems to have everything and more!

Cadillac DTS with Aero Package MSRP as tested: $70,160
