NEW FOR 2015:
– All-new model.
When Cadillac launched the ATS in 2013, it sent a clear message to the world’s luxury brands: America can compete with the best in the compact sport sedan arena. And now, Cadillac is turning its attention to luxury coupes, where the new ATS Coupe will go toe-to-toe with the mighty BMW 4 Series, Audi A5, and the newly introduced Lexus RC.
With a slightly sleeker profile and all-new sheet metal, the ATS Coupe is a handsome machine, though it’s unlikely to polarize folks the same way the old CTS Coupe did. That said, it’s a better drive thanks to a stiff, lightweight chassis, and balanced handling. Standard Brembo brakes, a limited-slip rear differential, plus staggered-width low-profile tires and optional magnetic suspension system demonstrate Cadillac’s seriousness about performance.
Unlike the ATS Sedan, the Coupe does without the base 2.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder. Instead, the range kicks off with a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder that develops 272 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Buyers seeking more excitement can opt for a 3.6-litre naturally aspirated V6 that develops 321 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque. All ATS Coupes can be had with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive; AWD models mandate the six-speed automatic, and only four-cylinder rear-drive versions can be had with a stick.
The ATS Coupe is available in four trim levels: Standard Collection, Luxury Collection, Performance Collection, and Premium Collection. All models can be had with the 2.0-litre engine in rear or all-wheel drive; the 3.6L V6 is not available on the Standard Collection, and can be had with rear or all-wheel drive.
Standard Collection models include leatherette upholstery, six-way power driver and front-passenger seat, heated front seats, wood trim, tilt and telescoping steering column, 60/40 split folding rear seat, remote start, dual-zone automatic climate control, nine-speaker Bose sound system, 4.2-inch display audio with AM/FM/XM, reverse camera, three USB audio ports, motorized flip-up/down screen, capacitive touch controls for HVAC, OnStar with 4G WiFi, Bluetooth, remote keyless access with push-button start, trip computer, cruise control, LED tail lights, 18-inch wheels, Brembo performance brakes, and sport suspension tuning.
Key options include no-charge six-speed manual transmission, all-wheel drive (automatic only), and the CUE & Surround Sound package which adds the CUE 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, voice recognition, text message assistant, wireless phone charging, Sound Enhancer Noise Control, and a 12-speaker Bose Sound system.
