Brand new for 2014, the CTS Sedan has arrived to critical acclaim. Much larger than the outgoing model, Cadillac has now positioned its mid-size sedan squarely against its German competitor – the BMW 5-Series. Gone is the CTS-V – possibly returning at a later date – replaced by a Vsport model sporting General Motors’ new 3.6L twin turbo V6 with 420 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. The new CTS also sees the introduction of the brand’s first eight-speed automatic transmission.
CTS is also available as a coupe or Sport Wagon (covered in a separate entries), still offered in the older bodystyle. The CTS sedan is available in rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, and with 2.0L turbocharged I4, 3.6L V6, or 3.6L turbocharged V6 engines. The 2.0L turbo four-cylinder and naturally-aspirated 3.0L V6 are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission while the Vsport 3.6L V6 is equipped with an eight-speed automatic.
