The five-passenger CTS Sport Wagon brings the same value equation to the luxury sport wagon class as the rest of the CTS family. The base, rear-wheel-drive model comes with a 270-hp, 3.0L V6. A 318-hp 3.6L V6 and all-wheel drive are options, while a six-speed automatic transmission is standard. Adding a fifth door hasn’t taken anything away from the CTS sedan’s already excellent cabin or its crisp styling. The CTS Sport Wagon can be thrown into corners aggressively without upsetting its balanced chassis. Priced like a luxury compact, the Caddy offers interior room similar to a mid-size. Why anyone would consider Caddy’s slower, poorer handling and more expensive SRX crossover is still a mystery.
It’s hard to argue with 556 supercharged horsepower, and when it’s fitted into a fine-handling, rear-drive platform with an available slick shifting six-speed stick, you have the definition of ballistic luxury. Alcantara interior trim signals Caddy’s sporting mandate, yet the CTS-V still proves to be comfortable and accommodating, with all the expected luxo-toys.
CTS is also available as a sedan or coupe (covered in a separate entries). The CTS Sport Wagon is available in rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, with a 3.0-litre or 3.6-litre V6 engine mated to a six-speed automatic. The CTS-V is equipped with a supercharged 6.2-litre V8 and six-speed manual or optional six-speed automatic transmission.
