For 2012, the Bentley Continental lineup adds a new version of its GTC Convertible, with more powerful engine, lighter weight and subtle new styling.
Also new is the Supersports Convertible Ice Speed Record (ISR). Limited to 100 models, the car commemorates a world record run on the frozen Baltic Sea by a stock model, and features more engine output and unique styling cues such as paint colours, dark grey metallic soft top, 20-inch ten-spoke dark-tint wheels and high-gloss carbon fibre interior with unique weaving.
The Flying Spur adds a new infotainment system, and the sedans can be ordered as “Series 51,” which allows customers to order from an exclusive range of recommended combinations by Bentley’s colour and trim designers. It is an additional $9,980 on the Flying Spur and $5,430 on the Flying Spur Speed.
The Continental is available as a sedan, coupe and convertible. The sedan is available as the Flying Spur Speed; the coupe as the GT; and the convertible as the GTC and Supersports. All models use a 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged W12 engine that is tuned for specific power in each model. All use a six-speed automatic transmission and are all-wheel drive.
Features on the Flying Spur include 19-inch alloy wheels, four-zone climate control, bi-xenon headlamps with washers, LED taillights, Bentley-branded gloss black calipers, tire pressure monitoring system, power-folding heated mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, pushbutton start, power-latching doors, full premium leather interior with matching carpets and seatbelts, Burr Walnut trim, steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, navigation system, six-CD stereo, infotainment screen, Sirius satellite radio, Bluetooth connectivity, heated massaging seats, garage door opener, and rearview camera.
The Flying Spur Speed adds 20-inch alloy wheels, dark-chromed grille, twin oval sport tailpipes, lowered sport suspension, sport-tuned exhaust, three-spoke sport steering wheel, alloy sport pedals, unique sill plates and diamond-quilted upholstery.
The GT is equipped similarly to the Flying Spur and adds 20-inch alloy wheels, “cobra-design” seats, and electrically-presented seatbelts.
The convertible models add 20-inch wheels and power-folding soft top. All models are further personalized with a variety of features customized to the owner’s preference.
