CHANGES FOR 2015:
– No changes.
After walking away with numerous awards – including AJAC’s “Best New SUV over $60,000” – the 2015 Acura MDX enters 2015 with no changes.
Acura’s athletic 7-passenger crossover is powered by an Earth Dreams 3.5L V6 sporting a less-powerful 290 hp and 267 lb-ft of torque versus the previous generation. Getting that power to the ground is no issue thanks to Acura’s signature SH-AWD and due to cylinder deactivation and a smaller engine, fuel economy is improved. The MDX may not be spectacularly exciting, but in the luxury seven-passenger segment, you can’t get much better bang for your buck. It even costs less than the outgoing model by over three grand.
Standard features include Integrated Dynamic System, hill start assist, all-wheel drive, airbags (front, Smartvent side, side curtain, driver’s knee), security system, tire pressure monitoring system, trailer stability assist, 18-inch alloy wheels, front disc/rear drum-in-disc brakes with ABS, power heated side mirrors with reverse tilt-down, integrated turn indicators and expanded view driver’s mirror, chrome door handles, headlight washers, heated windshield, LED headlights and taillights, power moonroof with tilt and auto-open/close, rearview camera, Bluetooth phone connectivity, tilt/telescopic steering wheel with mounted audio/phone/MID/cruise controls, HomeLink, maintenance minder, on-demand multi-use display, power tailgate, power windows with driver and front passenger auto-up/down, keyless entry, push button start, driver seat/mirror/steering column memory, rear console 115-volt power outlet, tri-zone automatic climate control, eight-speaker 432-watt AM/FM/CD/MP3/WMA audio with subwoofer and satellite radio, Bluetooth streaming audio, auxiliary input jack, USB port, SMS test message and email function, 50/50 split flat-folding 3rd row bench, Smart Slide 2nd row seat with One Touch Walk-In, 10-way power driver seat, 8-way power front passenger seat, and heated front seats and steering wheel.
