CHANGES FOR 2014:

– New model.

Replacing the slow-selling and underwhelming Acura RL is the new RLX, the Japanese luxo-brand’s new mass-market technology showcase. The new flagship sedan has more processing power than an earth orbiter, all in an attempt to keep you safety between the ditches, and all-wheel steering makes a retro comeback. But, under the hood, the RL gets a lowly 310 hp 3.5L V6, an oddity in a segment full of V8s. Also, being a front-wheel drive car in a sea of premium rear-wheel drive cohorts, the shield-face afflicted RLX is a recipe for a car that’s far from Legend-ary.

Features on base RLX include 3.5L SOHC V6 engine, six-speed automatic transmission with sequential sportshift paddle-shifters, Precision All Wheel Steer system, 18-inch alloy wheels, push button start, hill start assist with brake hold control, on demand multi-use display, heated power mirrors with reverse gear tilt-down, integrated turn indicators, and expanded view driver’s mirror, capless fuel system, electronic locking glove box, LED headlights, airbags (front, front seat, side curtain, driver’s knee), tire repair kit, 12-way power front seats, 3-mode wide view rear camera, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, heads up warning, keyless access system (front doors and trunk), silver plated interior trim, four wheel disc brakes with ABS, system, vehicle immobilizer, TPMS, headlight washer system, power moonroof with tilt and auto-open/close, security system, automatic climate control, auto-dimming rear view mirror, electronic tilt/telescopic steering wheel with driver recognition, Bluetooth phone connectivity, HomeLink, DOT display multi information display, power windows with auto-up/down, steering wheel mounted controls (cruise, audio, phone, MID), 10-speaker Acura/ELS audio system, Bluetooth audio, auxiliary input, USB port, satellite radio, leather wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, and leatherette seating surfaces.

RLX Tech adds 19-inch alloy wheels, power folding mirrors, navigation with 8-inch display, acoustic glass, blind spot information system, heated steering wheel, colour TFT multi information display, rain sensing wipers, AcuraLink connectivity system, 14-speaker audio system, and Milano leather seating surfaces.

RLX Elite adds collision mitigation braking system, e-pretensioner, auto-dimming door mirror, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane keeping assist system, parking sensors, power rear sunshade, rear side sunshades, 14-speaker Acura/KRELL audio system, heated rear seats, and cooled front seats ; removes forward collision warning.
