For 2012, changes to the Acura MDX are in trim, with the Technology trim adding the blind spot information system that was previously only found on the Elite, and the Elite adding upgraded mirrors.
The MDX uses a 3.7-litre V6 engine with six-speed automatic transmission and Acura’s Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system. It comes in a single trim line with two available packages, Technology or Elite. Seating is three-row for seven passengers.
Standard features include 18-inch alloy wheels, tri-zone automatic climate control, active front head restraints, tire pressure monitoring system, trailer stability assist, heated mirrors with integrated turn signals and tilt-down in reverse, fog lights, front and rear splash guards, xenon headlamps with washers, LED taillights, intermittent rear washer/wiper, power sunroof, ambient lighting, auto-dimming rearview mirror, compass, illuminated vanity mirrors, exterior temperature gauge, Bluetooth connectivity, garage door opener, multi-information display, power tilt and telescopic leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, power liftgate, auto up/down front windows, rearview camera, six-CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary input, XM satellite radio, ten-way driver and eight-way passenger heated leather seats, driver’s side memory, 60/40 split-folding second-row heated seats, and 50/50 split-folding third-row bench seat.
The Technology Package adds GPS-linked solar-sensing tri-zone front and rear automatic climate control, blind spot information system, premium CD/DVD/MP3 stereo, 15-GB hard drive storage, navigation system, rear-seat DVD entertainment system, Bluetooth audio, perforated leather upholstery, 115-volt outlet and USB port.
The Elite Package builds on the Technology Package and adds 19-inch alloy wheels, active damper system, adaptive cruise control, auto-levelling headlamps, power-folding mirrors with integrated turn signals, collision mitigating braking system, roof rails, and heated and cooled front seats.
