For 2010, the Mazda5 adds electronic stability and traction control, as optional equipment on the GS and standard equipment on the GT. Both models are decontented slightly, with the removal of a glovebox light, body side mouldings, and fender-mounted turn signals. A new Comfort Package available on the GS adds electronic stability control, traction control, Bluetooth connectivity, six speakers, cruise control, anti-theft alarm system, and leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Based on the Mazda3 platform, the Mazda5 has two sliding side doors and three rows of seats, with the capacity for six people. It uses a 2.3-litre four-cylinder engine with five-speed manual or optional five-speed automatic transmission. Trim levels are the GS and GT.

Features on the GS include 16-inch alloy wheels, power mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, intermittent rear wiper, tilt and telescopic steering wheel with audio controls, power windows, keyless entry, cargo area light, electroluminescent gauges, cloth seats, reclining and sliding second-row seats, 50/50 split-folding third-row seat, floor mats, locking glovebox, and CD stereo with auxiliary input.

The GT adds 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, electronic stability control, traction control, side sill extensions, heated mirrors, fog lights, body-colour rear spoiler, black headlight and taillight bezels, LED taillights, exterior temperature display, cruise control, easy-close semi-automatic sliding doors, power sunroof, leather-wrapped steering wheel, centre-row fold-out table/storage bin, Bluetooth connectivity, and anti-theft alarm.

The GS can be optioned with air conditioning, which includes automatic climate control and an exterior temperature display, and with a Comfort Package of Bluetooth connectivity, six speakers, anti-theft alarm, electronic stability and traction control, cruise control, and leather-wrapped steering wheel. The GT can be optioned with a Luxury Package of heated leather seats and six-disc stereo; when equipped with an automatic transmission, the GT can also be optioned with a Navigation Package, which adds voice-activated navigation system with touch screen, and MP3 playback capability.
