For 2009, the Bentley Arnage receives new options, including carbon ceramic disc brakes from the Brooklands that can be added on vehicles with 20-inch wheels.
The Arnage line-up consists of the R and T four-door sedans and the RL long-wheelbase sedan. All models use a 6.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 that makes 450 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque in the R models, and 500 hp and 738 lb-ft in the performance-oriented T, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic manual mode.
Standard equipment on all models includes Connolly leather interior, Wilton carpets, automatic climate control, DVD-based satellite navigation system, heated seats, cruise control, and front and rear parking sensors. The R model uses 18-inch wheels, while the T and RL use 19-inch wheels.
Each Arnage is built to the customer’s specifications, while over half are further modified by Bentley Mulliner, the company’s coachbuilder.
Based on a re-engineered Rolls-Royce platform, the R and its long-wheelbase RL sibling have softer springs and a cushier ride, while the Arnage T’s extra power is sent to the asphalt through a firmer setup, making it a huge, luxurious car that can handle challenging road courses with ease.
