For 2008, the Lamborghini Coupe, Spyder and Superleggera receive new standard and optional features. As well, all models now have their comprehensive and powertrain warranties upgraded from 2 years/24,000 km to 3 years with unlimited kilometres.

Named for a breed of fighting bull, the Gallardo is powered by a 5.0-litre V10 with six-speed manual transmission or optional sequential E-gear transmission with wheel-mounted paddles. All models use a permanent all-wheel drive system that transfers 80 per cent of the torque to the rear on acceleration, and will distribute it as necessarily if slippage is detected. The car has a top speed of 315 km/h.

Features include 19-inch wheels, electronically-controlled rear spoiler, leather interior, premium sound system, automatic door locks, heated power mirrors, power steering fluid cooler and multimedia system. Available options include a rear video camera, anti-theft system, navigation system, heated seats, coloured brake calipers, carbon fibre package and matching luggage.

The Spyder features a soft roof that opens or closes in 20 seconds via buttons on the dash. The rear window lowers automatically while the top moves, and then returns to the raised position; it can also be left open while the top is up.

The Superleggera, or "Super Light", is the Gallardo Coupe on a starvation diet. The exterior mirrors, fixed spoiler, hood, rear diffuser, inside door trim panels, engine cover, body undertray and console tunnel are carbon fibre; the engine cover and rear window are polycarbonate, instead of glass; several suspension parts are smaller but stronger than their conventional cousins; the muffler weighs less; the lightweight alloy rims use titanium nuts; and all interior leather is manmade Alcantara. It shaves off 70 kg, and the revised exhaust helps provide an extra 10 horsepower. The Superleggera has the same top speed as the Gallardo Coupe, but while the Coupe takes 3.95 seconds to go from zero to 100 km/h, the Superleggera does it in 3.8.
