Vancouver, British Columbia – The city of Vancouver has granted select downtown city parking spaces to Zipcar car-sharing service, including new locations in Yaletown and the Financial District, and in neighbourhoods where Zipcars are already available.
The company has announced that it is also outfitting each car in its fleet with Resident Permit Parking (RPP) permits, giving Zipcar members the ability to park in any of the city’s 20 RPP zones free of charge.
“By providing convenient access to Zipcar, the city of Vancouver is making a solid investment in responsible, sustainable urban living,” said John MacSween, general manager of Zipcar Vancouver. “The city benefits from reduced congestion, pollution and emissions. Consumers benefit from cost savings and freedom from the hassles of owning a car.”
