Jefferson City, Missouri – A Virginia fuelling station has become the 1,900th public station in the U.S. to offer E85 ethanol fuel, as reported by the National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition.
The milestone station is The Top In Food Store in Charlottesville, Virginia. The station is also the first public E85 station in Virginia, and was assisted with funds granted through the Virginia Clean Cities Coalition.
The location has 12 gasoline nozzles, two for E85, and two for biodiesel, and is capable of storing 6,000 US gallons (22,712 litres) of E85 and 4,000 gallons (15,141 litres) of biodiesel. The station is open 24 hours per day, seven days a week.
The Coalition reported that in January 2007, there were 1,430 E85 stations across the U.S. A complete list of E85 fuelling locations in the United States can be found at.
