Tokyo, Japan – Toyota will introduce a new midsize hybrid sedan, the SAI, in Japan this year, according to a report by the Green Car Congress.

The car is expected to have the same basic structure as the new Lexus HS 250h, but with different exterior and interior designs. It will be priced between the HS 250h and the Prius.

The automaker is also planning to release a less-expensive compact hybrid based on the Vitz, and a minivan hybrid, as early as 2011.
