Brussels, Belgium – A Swiss company has unveiled a mobile charger for electric vehicles (EVs), intended to help motorists who are stranded when their batteries are drained. Nation-E AG said that its NationMobile Angel Car is the first of its type in the world.
The mobile charging system can be installed on any standard service vehicle or on a dedicated Angel Car unit. The prototype service vehicle is capable of charging a stranded vehicle in less than 15 minutes with enough power to travel up to 30 kilometres.
The system uses Nation-E’s high-end battery management system, which allows the rescue vehicle to “converse” with the EV, examine its battery, and determine the quantity and intensity of energy that should be fast-charged into the stranded vehicle. The NationMobile Angel Car is currently being demonstrated to key industry players and politicians, the company said.
