London, England – The Toyota Prius has been named City Car of the Year by Top Gear, selected by the British company’s television, magazine and online teams.
Since going on sale in the U.K. in August, the new Prius has received 4,000 customer orders. Top Gear praised its technology, and its “awesome numbers” for fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions.
“You have to admire the Prius,” said editor Conor McNicholas. “It’s a testament to Toyota that it has refined this car over three generations to arrive at something quite ground-breaking.”
The Top Gear awards reflect the most exciting and innovative cars to be launched in the last twelve months, the company said.
