Seoul, South Korea – Kia Motors has announced full-scale production has started on ISG (Idle Stop and Go) models of the cee’d, sold in overseas markets. The system, which shuts off the engine at idle, will offer up to 15 per cent fuel savings in city driving.
The new models are built in Slovakia, with deliveries to customers across Europe scheduled to begin within the next two months.
The cee’d ISG cars are the first Kia production models to benefit from the automaker’s investment in eco-friendly technologies for the future. Kia said it is currently developing hybrid, fuel cell and electric vehicles for volume production in the next decade.
