Montreal, Quebec – Several cabinet ministers will be attending PHEV’09, a conference and trade show devoted to electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, when it runs in Montreal on September 28 to 30.
Natural Resources Canada Minister Lisa Raitt will unveil the Electric Vehicle Technology Road Map for Canada at the welcoming reception, while Thierry Vandal, president and CEO of Hydro-Québec, will deliver the closing remarks at the end of the event. Other ministers and directors will take part in various sessions.
“From 2010 to 2012, automobile manufacturers will be bringing out a new generation of vehicles powered by the electric network,” said Serge Roy, co-president of PHEV’09. “Specialists from all over the world will be gathering in Montreal, September 28-30, 2009, and this will provide the general public with an opportunity to see the latest technological developments and discuss the tangible measures that need to be taken to ensure their success.”
More than 80 conference speakers from Canada, the U.S., Europe and Asia will address the major technical, commercial and political issues surrounding electric mobility. Automakers expected to attend include Chrysler, Electrovaya, Ford, Future Vehicle Technologies, General Motors Canada, Nissan, Toyota and Zenn Motor Cars.
