ChevyVoltFreedomDriveNYC05.jpgDetroit, Michigan – A Chevrolet Volt completed its “Freedom Drive” over the July 4th weekend, completing 1,776 miles (2,858 km) from Austin, Texas to New York City.

“While our engineers are still working on our final calibrations, we could not have asked for the Volt to perform any better than it did,” said Tony Posawatz, vehicle line director for global electric vehicles. “The Freedom Drive proved the Chevrolet Volt can be your primary vehicle, whether you are commuting across town or across the country.”

The drive began on July 1, shortly after GM announced that Texas, New York, Connecticut and New Jersey would be added to the markets where the Volt will be sold later this year.
