Toronto, Ontario – The all-new 2010 Toyota Prius has gone on sale, with Canada’s first drivers coast-to-coast picking up their keys at special events across the country.

The 2010 model starts at $27,500, less than the 2009 model and the lowest price ever for a Prius in Canada. Five trim levels are available.

Compared to the 2009 model, the 2010 Prius has a Hybrid Synergy Drive that is 90 per cent newly-developed, improving power by 22 per cent while reducing fuel consumption by seven per cent. Combined fuel economy (city and highway) is estimated at 3.8 L/100 km. Features include additional rear-seat legroom, full vehicle safety control systems, active head restraints, seven airbags, and an available solar-powered ventilation system that pre-cools the cabin in summer.

The company has launched a new microsite for the Prius, which can be found at Prius.ca.
