Tucson, Arizon – Nissan has announced that it has partnered with the Pima Association of Governments (PAG), which represents the Tucson, Arizona region, to promote the development of an electric vehicle charging network.

ECOtality of Scottsdale, Arizona, a clean electric transportation and storage technologies company, will also be involved in the partnership, and will work to facilitate the process of helping to make the Tucson Metro Area electric-vehicle ready.

Nissan has announced it will introduce electric vehicles in the U.S. in 2010, and mass-market them globally two years later.

As part of the agreement, Nissan will assist PAG and its member jurisdictions in electric vehicle acquisition, and work with PAG to develop plans to promote a charging infrastructure.
