Wuhu, China – Chinese automaker Chery has introduced its S18 EV, an all-battery vehicle. Developed in-house, the S18 has a top speed of 120 km/h, and a range of 120 to 150 km.
The S18 uses a 40 kW electric drive system with lithium-ion battery pack. It charges in four to six hours at 220 volts, while fast charging will provide 80 per cent of capacity in 30 minutes.
In January, Chery launched a mild hybrid, the A5 BSG (belt-driven starter generator). It has also developed high-performance low-emission gasoline engines, a high-pressure common rail direct injection diesel engine, a moderate hybrid system, and flexible fuel engines.
