Belle Plaine, Saskatchewan – An ethanol plant in Saskatchewan will receive up to $77.75 million from the federal government over seven years to support the production of the biofuel in the province.

Terra Grain Fuels will receive the funding under the federal ecoENERGY for Biofuels program to help strengthen the Canadian renewable fuel industry.

“Terra Grain Fuels is very pleased to be a qualified member of the ecoENERGY Biofuels program and encouraged by the government’s commitment to the emerging renewable fuel industry,” said Tim LaFrance, president of Terra Grain Fuels. “There has been a significant positive impact on the local communities and area producers in and around the Belle Plaine facility.”

The federal government will invest up to $1.5 billion over nine years through the biofuel program.
