Detroit, Michigan – BMW will present the world premiere of the BMW 6 Series Convertible at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, along with the 1 Series M Coupe.
The market launch for the 6 Series in the U.S. will be the 650i Convertible, with a TwinPower Turbo V8 and direct fuel injection delivering 400 horsepower, and with six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission.
The 1 Series M Coupe marks the first time BMW has extended its range of high-performance sports cars into the compact vehicle segment. The car uses a 340-horsepower inline six-cylinder engine with M TwinPower Turbo, high power-to-weight ratio, innovative aerodynamic features and exclusive interior.
The company will also display the new 1 Series Coupe and Convertible, new X3, and ConnectedDrive, which integrates smart phones and music players, along with Internet-based services for optimizing navigational and entertainment systems.
