Vancouver, British Columbia – Volkswagen has launched the all-new GLI sport sedan at the Vancouver International Auto Show. It is the latest member of a long line of Jettas to wear the badge and follows in the tradition of the Golf GTI by adding sportiness and flair to the solid foundation of the newly-redesigned Jetta.
The GLI features a uniquely-styled fascia, honeycomb front grille and integrated fog lights, sill extensions and GLI-specific rear valance. Interior features include a flat-bottomed sport steering wheel, automatic dual-zone climate control, red stitching and aluminum trim.
The GLI uses a 2.0-litre TSFI engine with 200 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque, mated to either a six-speed manual or automatic direct-shift gearbox. A fully-independent sport suspension and a choice of 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels ensure sporty handling.
The Jetta GLI will go on sale in Canada this summer, starting at $27,475.
