Ajax, Ontario – Volkswagen Canada has announced pricing for its all-new 2009 Routan minivan which goes on sale this month. Starting at $27,975, the Routan becomes the most affordable seven-seat import nameplate van in Canada.

The Routan uses a 4.0-litre V6 engine with 251 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque, the most standard torque in its class. It features a European-tuned suspension and steering, matched for handling and improved driving dynamics. Mated with a standard six-speed automatic transmission, the Routan’s fuel economy is rated at 7.9 L/100 km on the highway and 12.2 L/100 km in the city.

Standard features include three-zone climate control, CD stereo with six speakers, front and side curtain airbags, tire pressure monitoring system and electronic stability control.
