Vancouver, British Columbia – The 2009 Vancouver auto show, Tuesday March 31st through Sunday April 3rd, has been reduced from ten days to six days this year, but will open three hours earlier on weekdays, announced the organizers. The new hours are: Tuesday – Friday, Noon – 10 pm; Saturday, 10 am – 10 pm; and Sunday, 10 am – 6 pm.
“This change was made with the close cooperation of our automotive manufacturer partners and positively reflects a pragmatic evolution of the Show,” said Vancouver International Auto Show (VIAS) Executive Director Paul McGeachie. “Our strategy on extending the weekday hours is two-fold: we hope to alleviate what has become the effect of Canuck game days on event access and parking. These extended weekday hours also allow us to expand the very popular ‘test drive’ feature that was introduced at the 2008 Show and to expand the overall size of the Show to include Level 4 of the Stadium.”
The show is held at B.C. Place Stadium near downtown Vancouver. Admission prices are $12 for adults, $10 for students and seniors, $4 for children 7-12, Free for Children 6 and under. A Family Pass is $28 and a Multi-Day Pass is $17.
The Vancouver International Auto Show is owned and operated by the New Car Dealers Association of B.C. (www.newcardealers.ca). The Vancouver Auto Show began over 80 years ago and is the largest trade and consumer event in British Columbia. Attendance at the 2008 Auto Show was 110,000.
