Vancouver, B.C. – The 2013 Vancouver International Auto Show runs this week, March 26th through 31st, at the Vancouver Convention Centre on the harbor waterfront, not at BC Place Stadium as it has most years.  New this year is the “Green Ride and Drive” where show-goers have the opportunity to test drive a selection of new electric, plug-in hybrid, and hybrid vehicles on a driving route that starts in front of the convention centre.  Available green vehicles include the Nissan Leaf, Mitsubishi iMiEV, Smart EV, GM Volt, Ford Focus EV, Ford Fusion Hybrid, Ford E-nergi, Ford C-Max hybrid, Ford C-Max E-nergi, Toyota Prius, Toyota Prius V, Toyota Prius C, Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE, Lexus ESH Hybrid, and Lexus CT200h.  Drivers must first register with each manufacturer at their booths on the show floor.

Highlights at the show include the Canadian debut of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT roadster and the VW Super Beetle.  Volkswagen is also showing a perfectly restored 1952 Beetle that was one of the first eight Beetles imported into Canada.  Other new vehicles debuting in B.C. include the Audi RS5 Cabriolet and Audi SQ5, BMW M6 Gran Coupe, BMW 3 Series Touring, BMW 3 Series Diesel, Mercedes-Benz B 250 and GLK 250 BlueTEC diesel, 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2013 Fiat 500L, 2014 Chevrolet Impala,  Chevrolet Silverado, Corvette, Trax, and two Chevy concept cars aimed at the youth market: the Tru and the Code; the all-new 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander; Honda’s unique Gear concept car; Subaru’s new XV Crosstrek as well as the 2014 Forester Non-Turbo and Turbo models; and Ford’s popular Escape, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, and C-Max Hybrid models.

Exotic car lovers will appreciate the first appearance of the $340,000 McLaren MP4-12C Spider, as well as models from Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati, Lotus, Aston Martin, Rolls-Royce, and Bentley.

Other specialty features include Classic Alley, the Clean Energy Vehicle Showcase celebrating the latest green vehicles and environmentally friendly technology; and the Red Line Stage, offering special guest speakers and events.
